Are you hungry?

Go and fight hunger.

You may ask, how do you fight your own hunger? Hunger for affirmation? The first step is to acknowledge that you don’t have to wait for someone to affirm and uplift you. You can start by uplifting yourself by being thankful, not only for the good things that happen to you but even for your troubles.

We just celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving. I have come across this reading and I would like to share why despite the odds, we should be thankful, not only on thanksgiving day but everyday.

“Be thankful that you don’t already have everything that you want in your life, otherwise what you have to look forward to?
Be thankful for your challenges; they build your strength and character.
Be thankful when you’re tired and weary because it means that you have made an effort.
Be thankful when you don’t know something for it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for your limitations, as they provide opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for your mistakes, as they will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful for the difficult times for they challenge you to grow.”

It’s good to be grateful. Focusing on all the gifts in your life will make you feel better and make self-affirmation easier. And when we do, that’s a million, or even more, less hungry people in the world.
